Wisconsin has a long history of leading land ethics and environmental conservation. From Indigenous people as the first and foremost original stewards to the passing of Earth Day legislation to Senator Gaylor Nelson who inspired Earth Day, many continue to work tirelessly to protect the land and its resources.
