The circus is in town! A town beset by unknown forces, horrifying creatures rising from the depths, farmers under siege, a watery quest for true love, and more. Wisconsin Adventures: Dreams & Nightmares welcomes you to Barribault! Within each adventure, players interact with Wisconsin mythology and explore recognizable locations. The history, geography, and setting of each is provided, as well as a complete list of Wisconsin Academic Standards that can be met within the structure of role-playing games. Dreams & Nightmares is designed to take your players from levels 5-8. Relax in Wisconsin! Where fiends and nature meet!
Adventures Included in Dreams & Nightmares, Module WA2:
- Hamilton's Tower: The mage Hamilton cast a spell that went awry and now evil duplicates swarm out of the lake!
- Witches Gulch: Help the farming community of Witches Gulch repel vicious bugbears!
- Fish Out of Water: A talking catfish, a fragile goldfish bowl, and a quest for true love.
- Belles of the Dells Circus: What’s causing the villagers of Barribault to suddenly run off and join the circus?
- Location: The village of Barribault is a sleepy little village north of Spirit Lake. Its inhabitants usually concern themselves with fishing, farming, and keeping the occasional roving bands of bugbears at bay. But today is special because The Belles of the Dells circus is in town! However, not all is as it seems ....
Educational Content
Within each adventure players will interact with characters inspired by historical figures, Wisconsin mythology, and actual locations. The history, geography, and historic background of each is provided in the Historic Inspirations section, as well as standards that can be met within the structure of the game. A comprehensive list of Wisconsin standards that can be met through role-playing games is provided at the back of the module.
Compatibility
WA2 is designed for use with the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition role-playing system from Wizards of the Coast. The freely available System Reference Document (SRD) 5.1 contains all the information needed to learn and play the game itself.
